Viewing item details and photos

The list gives you the essentials — what, when, and
who — but sometimes you need the full picture of a cake before you make
it. Open an item's details to see everything about it, including custom
decorating instructions and reference photos.
Opening item details
Select an item in the list and open its detail view. What you see depends on the kind of item:
Custom cake details
For a custom cake, the detail view shows everything the decorator needs, including per-tier instructions:
This is the decorator's spec sheet for the cake — the same information that prints on a cake ticket.
Permissions
Editing custom-cake details is permission-controlled. If you
can view but not change these fields, your account isn't set up for
custom-item editing — ask a manager.
Cake photos
If a cake has reference photos attached, you can:

Opening item details
Select an item in the list and open its detail view. What you see depends on the kind of item:
- Standard items show the description, any options chosen, and notes.
- Custom cakes show the full decorating detail (see below).
- Photos are available for any item that has them.
Custom cake details
For a custom cake, the detail view shows everything the decorator needs, including per-tier instructions:
- Inscription and its color
- Decoration and its color
- Occasion
- Tier descriptions — the details for each tier of a tiered cake
- Sculpture and decoration notes
- Any additional notes on the item

Permissions
Editing custom-cake details is permission-controlled. If you
can view but not change these fields, your account isn't set up for
custom-item editing — ask a manager.
Cake photos
If a cake has reference photos attached, you can:
- View the photo(s) for the item.
- Select which photo to show.
- Export an item's photos — this saves them together to a folder so you can print them, share them, or keep them with the job.
Tips
- Open the details before you start a custom cake so you're
working from the full instructions, not just the short description on
the list. - Photos are the fastest way to catch a mismatch — if what's
described and what's pictured don't agree, flag it before you decorate,
not after.
