Checking items in and out

Once an item is made, it doesn't always stay put.
It might go to the cooler, out for decorating, to another station, or to
the front for pickup. Checking items in and out lets you record who has an item and why, so nothing goes missing and anyone can see where a cake is at a glance.
Checking an item out
Check an item out when it leaves its normal spot or changes hands.
The item is now flagged as checked out, and its location updates to show the reason and who has it. The time it was checked out is recorded.
Check-out reasons
Reasons come from a shared list your shop maintains, so
everyone uses the same wording. If you need a reason that isn't there
yet, you can add a new one to the list.
Checking an item back in
When the item returns to its normal place, check it back in.
The item is no longer flagged as checked out. The system
records how long it was out (in minutes) along with the reason and
timestamps, so there's a complete history.
What gets recorded
Every check-out and check-in is logged — who did it, the
reason, the times, and how long the item was out. That trail is there if
you ever need to trace where a cake went or how long something sat
somewhere.

Checking an item out
Check an item out when it leaves its normal spot or changes hands.
- Find the item in the list and open its check-out panel.
- Choose a reason for the check-out (for example, "to cooler" or "out for decorating").
- Confirm which user is taking it.
The item is now flagged as checked out, and its location updates to show the reason and who has it. The time it was checked out is recorded.

Tips
- Check out generously. It only takes a second, and it's the difference between "the cake is in the walk-in" and "where did the Henderson cake go?"
- The Location column on the list reflects check-out status, so you can spot at a glance what's out and where.
- Keep your reason list short and consistent — a handful of
clear reasons everyone recognizes beats a long list of near-duplicates.
