Tagging items for batch actions

Most of the time you act on one item at a time. But
when you want to print for a whole group of items at once — say, every
cake ticket for Saturday — tagging lets you pick out exactly the items you want and act on all of them together.

How tagging works
Each row in the list has a tag checkbox. Check
it to tag an item; uncheck it to untag. Tag as many items as you like —
your tagged set is what the "print all" actions work on.

Using your tagged set
Once you've tagged the items you want, the "All"
print actions act on the whole tagged group instead of a single item.
For example, tag ten cakes and choose to print production labels for all
of them in one run.

The "Single" version of each print action always acts on just the one item you have selected — your tags don't affect it.

A typical batch

  1. Filter the list to the work you want — for example, all custom cakes due Saturday.

  2. Tag the items you want to include.

  3. Choose the All print action you need — cake tickets, production labels, and so on.

Tips

  • Filter first, then tag. Narrowing the list down means fewer rows to check off and less chance of tagging something you didn't mean to.

  • Untag as you go if your plans change — only the currently tagged items are included when you run a batch action.

  • Tags are for your batch right now; they're a working selection, not a permanent label on the item.
