Payments

Available Payment Options

The Available Payment Options check boxes determine what types of payments are made available to your customers on the Total Sale screen. If a payment type is checked it will available and if a payment type is not checked it will not be available.

Open Drawer Events

Corresponding to payment types BakeSmart can kick a cash drawer when certain types of payment are accepted. If a payment type does not have an associated Open Drawer Event box checked the cash drawer will not open when that type of payment is accepted.

Require Check Number

When checked, if a check is taken as a payment method BakeSmart will prompt the user to input the check number

Round Cash Payment To The Nearest Nickel

When checked, BakeSmart will round cash payments to the nearest nickel. Handy for countries that have eliminated the lowly penny.

Monetary Denominations

Users have multiple options for entering the amount tendered by the customer when accepting payment.

If the customer has Exact Change, the user can simply click the payment method that the customer is paying with and BakeSmart will assume the Amount Tendered is the same as the Amount Due.

The User may also type in the amount of the payment. For example, if the Sale Total is $49.95 and the customer hands over a $50 bill, the use can type: “50” or “50.00” to note that $50 was paid against this ticket. Please note, if the user types “5000”, BakeSmart will accept that as a $5,000 payment.

Finally, BakeSmart can be setup to Use Currency Buttons to Enter Amount Tendered. When the user clicks “CASH” as the payment method, a screen will appear with different monetary denominations. These denominations are configured on the Settings > Point of Sale > Payments & Receipts tab, and will appear as buttons that the cashier can simply click.

On this screen the user may still use the Exact Change button if the customer is paying with exact change, type in the amount tendered, or use the currency buttons.
