From BakeSmart’s Home screen, Click the Three Bar Menu Button

Then Click the Lists Button

And then Products Button

From here there are two ways to create a new product

First Way: Create a completely NEW product.

Second Way: Create a duplicate of an existing product, then edit the differences

Note: When copying an existing product it will copy all the information, on all the tabs from the original product. So this is the easiest option only if all the tax information, availability information, etc is the same for the new product.

Create a Completely New Product

From the Product List Screen click on the plus sign that is in the top menu bar

This will open a Product Screen. Enter the name of the new Product, in the top left Product Name box. Also, notice that it will populate in the button “Name of Receipt” and “Name for Label” fields (which can be edited if operationally best for your bakery)

Next you will want to assign a category, subcategory and department to this product. You will do this by clicking on the box under each heading and selecting from the dropdown options.

Note: Not all products need to have a subcategory or department, however organizing your products with all fields will add to the details available when pulling reports.

Add a product description and a photo of your product.

Now let’s add the price. Click on the box under Price Type and select from the drop down. And then manually type in the retail price of the product.
To auto figure the wholesale price based on the % wholes discount you’ve assigned in Settings, click “Update Pricing” and then “Current” . It will auto fill the wholesale price applying the discount to the retail price you’ve just entered.

Create a New Product From An Existing Product

From the Product List Screen click the Red Circle next to the search bar in the top left corner. This will show your entire product list.

Search for the Product or the Category that the existing Product is associated with and then tag that product by clicking the button in the Tag Column in the far right of the screen.

Now that you have tagged the Product that you wish to duplicate, click the Action Button in the top right Tag Menu. Then click the Duplicate Products Button.

You will now see two of the same product listed. The Bottom Product is the newly duplicated Product. Click that Product Button and the Product Screen will open.

Click the Edit Button on the top of the page. Then click the Product Name Field in the top Left of the screen and edit the information for the NEW product. Once entered, you will notice the “Name for Receipt” and “Name for Label” boxes will be updated with the NEW Product name.
Now the New Product has been created. Remember, this new Product will have all the same attributes as the one it was copied from, so if there’s a different availability, tax, price, etc you will need to edit those changes in this final step.
