Coupons

Calculate Taxes Before Coupons Are Applied: When checked BakeSmart will calculate taxes and then apply coupons.

Apply Percentage Discounts To: Here you can select if you want percentage discounts to apply to the original price or the discounted price. This setting affects BOTH coupons AND discounts. This would be most commonly used if you had a coupon for an already discounted item.

Select/Create Coupon: Here you can change the settings of existing coupons or create new coupons. Clicking new or selecting an existing coupon in the list will expand the coupon details to the right. You can also delete existing coupons by clicking the trash can icon.

Coupon Details

Select a coupon name or create a new coupon in the Select Coupon section of the screen. Both actions will cause the Coupon Details to be displayed on the right of the screen.

Description

The name of the coupon

Placement

Where the coupon was printed or displayed (e.g, “On Website”, “Indianapolis Star”)

Type

There are 3 types of coupons in BakeSmart:

       -Dollar Amount Off

       -Percent Off Entire Ticket

       -Percent Off Single Item

Amount

The value of the coupon. When creating a “Percent” coupon use a whole number to represent the percentage ( 10 = 10% )

Minimum Purchase

Designate a minimum purchase amount for the coupon 

to be applied.  If blank there will be no minimum.

Active Dates

Dates the coupon is active

Barcode

Number representing a barcode printed on the coupon. The barcode can be searched using BakeSmart to find the coupon in the system.

Promo Code

You can assign a coupon a promo code here.

Applicable To Any Purchase

Allows the coupon to be applied to any purchase.

Applicable To Specific Products

Allows coupon to be applied only to purchases of specific products. Once you click this a search for Applicable Products button appears.

Applicable Products

If a coupon is only applicable to specific products, click the button to select the products the coupon can be applied to.

Applicable Stores

Set stores at which the coupon can be accepted.

Discounts

Select/Create Discount

Create a new discount by clicking the new button or select an existing discount from the list. Both actions will cause the Discount Details to be displayed on the right of the screen.

Custom Discount Setting

Checking the “Require entry of the reason for giving a discount” button will prompt users to enter a reason for discounts when they are applied.

Description

Name of the discount

Type

Discount can be set to either Percent or Dollar Amount Off.

Amount

The value of the discount. When creating a “Percent” discount use a whole number to represent the percentage ( 10 = 10% )

Sort Order

Setting a number in this field will sort the display of discounts in the Point of Sale.

Discount Groups

Select/Create Discount Group

Create a new discount group by clicking the new button or select an existing discount group from the list. Both actions will cause the Discount Details to be displayed on the right side of the screen.

Prompt Before Applying Group Discounts

When checked BakeSmart will display a warning before applying discount groups.

Type

There are 3 types of Discount Groups:

Dollar Amount Off

Lowest Priced Item Free

Price Reduction

Number Required For Discount

Number of items required to be on the sale for the discount group to apply.

Discount Amount

The value of the discount. When creating a “Percent” discount use a whole number to represent the percentage ( 10 = 10% )

Discount Amounts For Additional Pricing Levels

Set discount amounts for additional pricing levels

Additional Discount Level

When checked you can set another amount of product to trigger the discount group.

Fees

Select/Create Fee

Create a new Fee by clicking the new button or select an existing Fee from the list. Both actions will cause the Fee Details to be displayed on the right of the screen.

Description

Name the fee

Application Type

There are three Application Types:

• All Tickets: These fees are applied when the sale is totaled.

• Credit Card Payments: These fees are applied when the Credit Card button is clicked.

• Manual: These can be applied by clicking Add Fee on the payment screen.

Fee Type

Choose Flat Rate or Percent

Amount

The value of the Fee. When creating a “Percent” fee use a whole number to represent the percentage.                  ( 10 = 10%)

Allow Fee To Be Waived

Click this box if you would like this fee to be waived in certain situations.
