How to Turn off Orders for Specific Days

When you want to close ordering bakery wide, for either a day you are closing your bakery that normally you're open, or you've reach your threshold for orders around a holiday, you'll want to tell BakeSmart so orders can not be placed for those dates. To do so, you'll use the "date limit" function under the Production Settings.

From the Home Page in the top right corner click Menu >then Settings >then Production.

Click Date Limits in the Tool Bar on the left side of the screen, then click the green plus sign in the middle section of the screen. From there you'll click the date(s) (one at a time) that you will be closed or not taking orders. Click custom and/or non-custom to include both or one of those categories.

Example: For a holiday, you may want to still take custom cakes but close orders for all other items, this is when you would click Non-Custom, so your team can still take custom orders, but no other items.

Then type in a message. The message will pop-up when that date is selected, telling either your employee or customer (BakeSmart Online) that you are closed and this date is unavailable. Remember, the customer will read this message in your eCommerce store, so add any details to help the customer understand what date they can place orders for.

If you are closed multiple days for the same reason, simply copy the message you wrote and paste it when you select the next day.
Once all your dates are listed, click the box next to "Use Production Volume and Date Limits. Then update Settings by going to the homepage menu> then POS Manager> then Update Settings.

Now when a team member or customer tries to select one of these dates to place an order, they will receive a pop up window that tells them this date is unavailable and show the message you just programmed into this field.

NOTE: When a team member is taking orders, this can be overridden.
